Metro, Britain’s first new High Street bank in 100 years, celebrates its first birthday on July 29th, 2011.
Customers flock to join the revolution
In its first 12 months Metro has opened over 25,000 retail and business accounts and continues to grow at over 1000 accounts a week.
Bringing Back Local Lending
Metro has brought back the Local Bank Manager and over 1200 Commercial customers have joined the banking revolution in the first year.
The revolution continues to gather momentum and create jobs
Metro, which has already opened 8 stores in its first 12 months, will open a further 16 stores over the next 18 months, trebling the number of stores to 24. This means the c300 jobs already created will more than double to over 600 by the end of 2012.
